Discussion of the second half of King Benjamin’s speech to his people. He helps them to realize the enormous gap between them and God and that we are unable by ourselves to bridge that gap. We thus all must rely upon the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, which we learn purifies our hearts through the Holy Ghost, helping to illustrate the close unity between Christ and the Holy Ghost. He teaches that we are all beggars before God, and thus we have an obligation to help others in the same way that God helps us. His people each enter into a covenant with God and take upon themselves the name of Jesus Christ, which is the only name by which we can be saved.
